      ... Zimbabwe for myself. The way the granite fit so smoothly together truly depicts the immense amount of work constructors must have had to put in and the amount of time they sacrificed to achieve such perfection.

      ... of some “veteran” teachers, we found some new food sources which will help – cream cheese and sliced ham. I made Blanche’s mushroom dip last night and it tasted soooo good!

      We know the deep freeze has settled in at home and we’re shivering in empathy. At least there hasn’t been a lot of snow to shovel yet!

      ... someone gets sick here the whole country is in epidemic pandemonium. We are constantly being packed into rooms to wait for this, or shuffled into this area to hold for something else.       Having pretty much walked the length of the city, I decide to take the Metro back- it costs 50p and takes 25 minutes. I treat myself to big bottle of Chinese beer and chill out in the hostel common area. Guangzhou has been a big surprise, gutted I'm only spending one night here but my Beijing flight is encroaching very quickly.

      Soon I will be home; to normality, to friends, to family. But for the moment I just need to have a quick glance at Hong Kong.
