Oh dear - so soon? The horrid travel day has reared its ugly head. We aren't very good at travel days ... We tend to spend a fair bit of time planning for them but something invariably goes wrong. Today we found out we hadn't booked the hire car! We had decided that the easiest way to get a hire car for this trip was to get one from Heathrow. It is easier to drive around to get out of London than the city. It`s the day before the long awaited trip to the USA. The packing is complete. Martin and Sheila are starting the holiday early as they have tickets for Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons at the NEC so Chris and Gill will meet them at the airport tomorrow to check in at 6.30am. Our flight departs at 9.00am for Newark where we have about 4 hours to kill before flying onto Las Vegas.

After a quick shopping spree with my Mum on Monday whilst Richie and Dan got up and ready we headed over to Sunny's after debating on what to do, she suggested on visiting Monsal Head , a beautiful scenic area which is part of the Peak District and a perfect suggestion it was. After a lovely walk and a quick drink in the local pub that used to be a stable we stopped off in Matlock for some hot chips and walk by the river. Both places are a must to return to one ...
