Left Waterton heading for the border which happens to open at 09:00 - we were fifth in line. No duty free in the middle of nowhere but I did manage to get our remaining firewood across the border by stating with authority that it had no bark and after a quick private consultation we breezed across the border with a Banff jerry-rigged piece of wood with bark on the roof holding up Erik the kayak.

Tidbits:
- The National and Provincial parks close smaller tent type campgrounds too early -- only large main RV type campgrounds are open after Labour Day (assume most summer help returns to school).
- Can’t mention too often how cheap and good Alberta steaks are - even regular sirloin melts in your mouth..

June :9 Got up in Edmonton and made my way to see Jack, we had a nice visit. *waves at Jack in case he's reading this* Then, *catchy tune plays* "On the road again" South! Back down the # 2 and right after Calgary, on a whim, I decided to cross back over into BC through Crowsnest Pass and sleep in Fernie. I didn't know then my impromptu plans were about to be derailed. Well not much to say here - another one nite stand but the best news is we crossed the border to the old US of A again successfully- The "quilt show" was here in Eureka Montana where we spent the first night back in the US. The town is 250 people big, and I think all of them were here at the quilt show. some really beautiful quilts and we barely made it before closing --$$aved me some money for sure.......
