The five star hotel in Qingdao was right on the beach, with great views of both the mountains and the sea. When you are living out of a suitcase moving from city to city not being able to use a kitchen, the meals that you are provided become really important, the breakfast buffet in this hotel was absolutely incredible, I ate crispy bacon, baked beans, poached eggs with fresh watermelon juice every morning! Today we had a delightful day in Qingdao, China. Qingdao is beautiful coastal city with an interesting history. The city is sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of the east because it is surrounded by water on three sides and beautiful green hills on the other. Today we start with our usual scheme: 7-8-9 meaning rolling at 9 am. We are taking a bus to see the old city around the pier. The houses look similar to Europe. This town including the beer factory is built by Germans.
