So finally the big day arrived. After all the planning, training and fundraising, the first day of riding was finally upon us. ... loaves and fishes and Capernaum, where many of the apostles were from. At the south end of the lake, the river Jordan flows down towards the Dead Sea. We stopped there as well, as its said this is where Jesus was baptised. Everywhere we went there were plenty of tourist buses. I would see these and appreciate having a car so we could go at our own pace and see what we wanted when we wanted.

... absolute necessity; more important than other clothing perhaps. We hiked down until we came to a small river that flowing through a valley. The water was beautiful and clear. We often had to cross the "river" (a stream to us) which resulted in quite a comedic scene. None of us wanted to get our thick hiking shoes wet.
