Day 2. Another morning on the lake. This time to Lakeside and back. Very pleasant - and oh! what a beautiful day. We came home and changed to our shorts - first time in 3 weeks. Dressed in summery attire we took off to Orrest Head where we had a panoramic view of the lake. It was almost as good as Bariloche, Argentina. It was good food but eating our of a cardboard box and with plastic utensils was ...

... to shine for us, and on our way back to our room we headed up the hill at the end of our street to get yet another amazing view of the lake. We had only time for a short rest before dinner - the Angel Inn for a pub meal to finish our visit to the Lake District. Exhausted we headed back up the hill (again) having done about 19 km for the day. With this blog finished I should sleep well ...

    The Lake District

We got an early start (for us) and headed towards the Lake District. With only 45 minutes to get here, we had plenty of time to explore the area before heading to our accommodation at the Westbourne B&B at Windermere (a recommended accommodation by the Morecombe Tourist Information Centre). Arriving at Windermere we headed straight to the Tourist Information Centre, where we were given some information about walks in the area and gardens we could visit. We ...
