Once on the island we found ourselves a nice guesthouse but switched rooms from an attic one to a ground floor one as we could hear really noisy mice scuttling in the eaves. The room swap cost us nothing extra but the new room was huge which was a nice bonus! That evening we had Rendang, a tasty Indonesian dish, whilst watching traditional Batak dancers and then ...

With our low budget we thought our room would be located on the other side overlooking the road but being out of season we were given possibly the best room overlooking the lake with a huge balcony and a four poster bed! We considered doing a cooking class but it was way to expensive with a **** menu, 25 pounds per person and she wonders why she has not had anybody cook for a while. We then returned to the hotel and looked lost at what to do with relaxing time so we planned our next stop and got so excited we decided to go tomorrow and spend the rest of the day trying local lobster and drinking. In the evening we ...

... special treat to soak under boiling water and come out squeaky clean and with our muscles somewhat relaxed. After our hot showers we dressed for dinner and ran back to the restaurant for some tasty roast chicken, chips and salad with ginger lemon tea. With that we were both eyes half closed and ready for bed hoping that the rain would cease and we would wake up the next day to blue skies and sunshine.
No such luck. At 7am I opened my eyes and saw no ...
