Gorgeous design, huge pool and pool bar with a neon fountain in the evenings.

Spa facilities were beautiful, purple curtains draped the corridors, private shower and steam room, massage parlour opening onto a private pool garden with a fountain and a jacuzzi in the centre.

Bathroom was separated from the main room with sliding doors looked great but not super practical. The shower was lit with soft blue light and we had a rain shower head

... but it is close to the beach, restaurants and shopping so I am sure it will be ok.

Checked in then headed for the beach - water warm, sand white and beautiful. Very pretty cove. Then for some food on the beach front, checked out a few shops, found a supermarket tucked away - bought some essential provisions like cheese/crackers/ chocolate - couldn't buy wine as they only sell after 5pm!!!! oh well - there is the pool ...

... little beach. We stayed there till 6 and than went up a hill where we had a beautiful sunset so we took some pictures. We than went home, Michel & I went to get some nibbles and we had our apero. Than in the evening we went for dinner at a fish restaurant very near where you can chose and buy your own fish from stands first. What is special is that the stands in this particular area are given to gypsy of the sea as they call them here and this by the queen ...

... t talk about. But it was definitely difficult to adjust my feminist thoughts in relation to a town based on the exchange of money for sex or all things related to the industry, including strippers, lady boy shows and ping pong shows. this is also a country notorious for human trafficking. And while I have been to Amsterdam's red light district, this is nothing like the often discreet way of selling sex or the fact there ...

... Akenakkiri Buddha in full, it is 25 meters across at the base. The whole body is layered with beautiful white Burmese marble that shines in the sun, making it a natural symbol of hope. The views, and the actual image itself are all breathtaking, but for us, the sweeping vistas over Chalong Bay on one side of the Island and the Indian Ocean on the other, really takes your breath away!!!

On the way down, we stopped the car ...
