... Lunch was at another Muslim street Café 7 they gave us about 6 courses – a few with prawns & fish & that food was amazing!! Enjoyed catching up & they told me some things I should do in Singapore & will keep in touch by E Mail
We had ridden 20km before lunch & now had 32 km to cover in the afternoon. We set off at our ...
... hotel full, to lay around before a vegetable based thai dinner. Day 7- We're leaving finally! This afternoon we get a Ferry to Phi Phi island (where the beach was filmed), takes about 1.5 hours. We will probably hang out there for a couple of days, then get a ferry to Krabi and hang out there for a week or so before doing a flight to Chang Mai (in Northern Thailand) via Malaysia with Air Asia (just so we can renew our stupid 15 day Thai Visa). Anyways... Day 6- Got up late, got in
Kathu, Phuket, Thailand jamishOn Wednesday, we woke up and it was yet another beautiful day! Last week, the weather wasn't the best. It was really overcast every single day. However, the past 3 days have been nothing but blue skies and sunshine. We woke up and I really didn't want to eat breakfast at the hotel again. I am so sick of eggs, toast and pineapple juice. But we did have a pleasant surprise: bacon & hash browns. I decided to ...
Phuket, Thailand deniseosu4... stop at an agency en route to see what they can sell you. In town I managed to find good digs at 660 Baht, which is cheap for high season. Then it all came flooding back, the smell of the streets, the hustle and bustle, lady boys, street walkers, old men, night markets touting copies and bars full of drunk ferangs.. It's like I'd never left.
Patong, Phuket, Thailand alli_cat... that I wanted to spend some time training in Thailand. Muay Thai is Thailand's national sport. It differs from western kickboxing as elbows and knees are legal and fights feature only groin protection. I wasn't too keen on going to Phuket as it's "too touristy" but the gym was recommended to me. There are some gyms that I have been advised not to go to, as they can have 60+ tourists who aren't very serious in their training and are more just there for sex ...

Phuket, Thailand travelmichelle... plus people before we go to the upper deck. It's a regular porcelain toilet with an enormous drum of water (with mandatory bucket) beside it. Mental note to use the sea whenever possible. Everyone sits, politely smiles and waits and a friendly Thai man appears, offerring drinks and fresh fruit. Dad and I aren't shy and we hoe into the rambutans which are so fantastically fresh. Dad asks if there are any more downstairs. Dad then starts ...
Patong, Thailand tric1003... so once Ian was on board we quickly booked one. We were scheduled to be picked up at 11:15am so we quickly ran down to the sandwich shop to get breakfast and lunch. Then we went over to the Family Mart, which is not quite as popular as 7/11 but its also everywhere, to get some drinks for the day. We were back at the hotel at 11:05 but the minibus was already there waiting for us. We got on the bus and drove around in circles picking up other tourists. Finally we were ...
Phuket, Thailand travelingdiva... they filmed "The Beach". Looking at the thunderous skies and listening to the rain hammer onto the tin roof of our bungalow, it didn't seem like such a good idea. The weather cleared up though, the sun came out. And we kayaked and snorkelled around the bay; the snorkelling a much better experience than previously. The beach itself was beautiful. The island is uninhabited, apart from five rangers who protect it ...
Koh Phi Phi, Thailand alan.hempton... would chill out on the sand with our cold, fresh and juicy pineapple chunks! Our breakfat here was rice and curry! After we spotted a great place to eat just 5 mins from our accommodation. It cost 45 bht each and included drinks! The nightlife was very different from back home with lots of bars filled with Thai/Bar-girls. Most men over here whether 60 or 16 all seem to have a Thai lady on their arm, some of them (probably not to their knowledge) with a ...
