Pete made it without an issue and it was a lovely day for driving as well. I looked around the shops and had lunch in the Cathedral shop and of course took some pictures and read about some of the history or Wincester!

Today several Trussell Trust staff and volunteers have bruised upper arms from loading hundreds of boxes filled with a reocrd breaking 3800+ Christmas Shoeboxes onto a rather large lorry... The bruises were worth it to see the lorry pull away and begin its 2,450km trip to Bulgaria to transform thousands of Christmases.

We have to say a huge thankyou to all those who donated boxes and to all those hardy souls who braved the cold in ...

Booked flight today - Guatemala on Feb 22nd 2010. So to mark the occasion I thought I'd start my travel diary today as well.

Bournemouth has a very funny layout.. the two main streets of the town go up both sides of the hills that lead down to the park and eventually to the famous Pier.

I was a bit down in the dumps this day.. I think because I was watching all the families and couples having some fun. It was mid term break so there were heaps of kids around and the entrance to the Pier was packed with amusements and ...

... and a cider at a pub! I walked in with my bike pants on and riding top.. looked a bit wild I think.. everyone just turned around and stared!! lol The lunch was huge.. big slices of ham off the bone, a bagette, salads and their home made relish.. yum but it was a long ride home!! And I nearly got run over.. lol. I went to dodge a squirrel running across the road, laughed and swirved to miss him and a car came around the corner just at the same ...

... people coming from London to take in the sea air and take to the water, ie the spas! Jane Austen apparently stayed in Southampton for a time as well.

The last night with the Smiths and we had a bit of a party night, I bought Indian... the music was put on and we were dancing and Olly was playing with his guitar and the dogs!

... that work like gates almost to keep wildlife in or out, that you must step over to continue your trek. They look like a wrongly shaped X with 1 / being lower than the other and you step on them kind of like steps to get over. All in all, I was glad I had a native with me to walk around or else I would have completely missed my turns in my path! End statement... walking in Britain, I guess it IS what its cut out to be.
