... and had a great lunch and I got my long awaited coco loco!! We walked around a little more found the laundry mat and where the grocery store was and the Internet. Its really great just being here the winds are pretty strong so it looks like we’ll be here for at least a few days but that’s fine with me.

Oranjestad, Aruba divearuba... out of the mini van.

We were told by our guide that Aruba's famous natural bridge collapsed on September 2005. Nobody was present to witness its collapsed which was in the early morning. It was a shock to the people but the island has at least 7 other natural bridges around the north eastern shore. We saw the Baby Natural bridge which was close by. It has this name because of its natural form that looks like a bridge. Makes sense ...
Oranjestad, Aruba momentsintime... flops and no hats etc., so not sure which part of H&S they were talking about. Our workman were great (when they eventually arrived as nothing happens quickly on this island) they even gave us presents (see photo). The site swimming pool was awash with debris, 2 large frogs & a huge crab that came from somewhere. Colin got stung on his head by a scorpion that was in his hat ! fortunately they are not venemous. He seems to have been ...
Oranjestad, Aruba mills01480... that sells jewelry at our hotel and they have pearls similar to what I got in the Philippines for maybe $12, so I'll see if I can pick up some jewelry. I haven't looked at it in depth, though. Otherwise, we haven't found what's really unique to this island. It's typical Caribbean style, but reminds me a lot of Mexico/Honduras. I also want to say "Salamat" or "Thank you" in Tagalog, but I'm not in the Philippines! They ...
Oranjestad, Aruba mandy13082... after the freighter California ran aground on the nearby reef. It is also clearly where the fireworks show will be on New Year's Eve. From the lighthouse, we could glimpse the rugged side of the island. The ground around the lighthouse was clearly uneroded lava -- very sharp and rough. After that, we just drove through the new high-rise hotels and low-rise hotels -- tons of timeshares -- then back to the pier ...
Orenjstad, Aruba ahartry... me out too. Half an hour later, I go and sign. I am still not happy. But we got a big part back. Thanks to my patient, nice Hubby. He takes us back and I make lunch. We lost hours! I AM a bit grumpy: why can people not be plain honest??? Hubby has the computer while I take a nap and now it is the other way around. I'll get ready to leave now if I can wake him up. Tomorrow, tomorrow, well, you will see tomorrow for part 100! Did you know that we are almost back?
Oranjestad, Aruba tonyandmarina... noodles are buttery and the chicken is moist. Yum! It's great comfort food. The evening is topped off with chocolate bavarian mousse for dessert. Ok, I have tasted plenty of chocolate mousses and I must say that I had the best one here. It had good consistency; light and airy, not overtly sweet. A great way to end our last night here. Our Aruban vacation has come to an end. Though my husband's wedding band remains elusive, we walk away knowing we ...
Noord, Aruba nofixedplans... am honestly sorry for those of you who keep emailing about the snow. I wish you too could be enjoying this beautiful weather. However, I promise soon enough it'll be heading to North America. The internet connection here is not as strong as I would like it to be, so I will be in touch when I am able. We have many things planned for the next few days that I will do my best to update you on, however, if not, then I will gladly email you when I am back home.
Palm Beach, Aruba kimberleyd... get some from the other folks. Tonight, we eat at the Old Cunucu House, the oldest restaurant on the island serving Aruban food. Aruban food... well, it's kinda like a mix of all sorts of different cuisines.. some spanish, some italian. My food was OK. Good conversation and good wine all around, so that made up for it. An early night, more meetings in the morning.. a girl could get used to this.
