... after the freighter California ran aground on the nearby reef. It is also clearly where the fireworks show will be on New Year's Eve. From the lighthouse, we could glimpse the rugged side of the island. The ground around the lighthouse was clearly uneroded lava -- very sharp and rough. After that, we just drove through the new high-rise hotels and low-rise hotels -- tons of timeshares -- then back to the pier ...

... noodles are buttery and the chicken is moist. Yum! It's great comfort food. The evening is topped off with chocolate bavarian mousse for dessert. ... am honestly sorry for those of you who keep emailing about the snow. I wish you too could be enjoying this beautiful weather. However, I promise soon enough it'll be heading to North America. The internet connection here is not as strong as I would like it to be, so I will be in touch when I am able. ... get some from the other folks. Tonight, we eat at the Old Cunucu House, the oldest restaurant on the island serving Aruban food. Aruban food... well, it's kinda like a mix of all sorts of different cuisines.. some spanish, some italian. My food was OK. Good conversation and good wine all around, so that made up for it. An early night, more meetings in the morning.. a girl could get used to this.
