Kanyakumari is located at the southernmost tip of India. It is named after the virgin goddess Kumari. This is probably the only place in the world where three oceans, the Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean meets.

... hour to spare, and I bought lunch :p I was pretty under the weather the whole time we were in Kanyakumari, but it was a chill place so that helped. The Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean all mash up on the rocks here, and people from all over India flock to see the sunrise and sunset, which were a bit cloudy but still super sweet. Two days of chillin there and we took an overnight train to Chennai, then a bus to Mamallapurum :)

This is, however, the frontier of India and not just a landmark of this country but for us too, as it brings up a total of 7999km traveled overland since we left home nearly six months ago. This is only halfway and as India sinks into the ocean at Kanyakumari we rise up and look forward to another six months of discovery and learning, of enjoying this magnificent journey of ours. XXX

After leaving Munnar, which we enjoyed so much, we headed back down the mountains to the coast, firstly to Allepey. But first we had to get to Allepey and we had the longest bus journey to date... it took 6 hours on a state bus which is not comfy or spacious!
