... not a bad way to spend my birthday!
Monday 9th June
Its home time today, and to make the most of it, we're up at the crack of dawn and out by the pool again before our 10am shuttle to the airport. I will be sad to leave the sunshine, cactus's and ocean, but will not miss having to dispose of toilet paper in a bin (due to their delicate system)! Adios Lanzarote, hasta luego!

Today we are jetting off into the sun, for a long weekend getaway for my birthday. We're leaving a surprisingly warm Edinburgh, which is fortunate because the walk to the tram is in t-shirts and jandals - yes, we are flying Ryan Air for the first time, and hand luggage is sparse. It was a slow start to the morning after a night out with the Edinburgh crew lastnight. To get into the Spanish theme, cousin Cheryl dared Kev to drink a jalapeno cocktail - ...
... her to return with ice cream :). 4 hours later and still no Em. I had seriously gotten my tan on, napped, read, ate ice cream (people watched around the beach selling it, super convenient) and swam some more. Finally I decided I should probably go look for her because it was getting to around the time when the boys would be coming back from the bike ride and starting the run. Packed up all our stuff and walked up and down the strip looking for ...
Woken up by the extremely loud sounds of construction right outside of our window. You'd think they'd postpone that for a week or at least a few days considering the hotel is at capacity and no one wants to listen to that ALL DAY LONG! But I still tried to sleep through it and finally woke to go have some breakfast with the boys. Very sadly it is another cloud filled day with the sun no where in sight. Em says it might come out later since it's still ...
A very early but not as bad as I expected 3:30am wake up. We were all packed so all there was to do was get dressed and head downstairs. The airport was an hour and 15 away but the trains are not in operation that early in the morning. So we had to have a cab come pick us up. Very easy ride to the airport except our cab driver went into the parking garage for some reason, and then we he tried to exit it was going to cost 3 pounds, so he reversed and parked outside ...

Like name indicates it is by the sea, but not much more. Hotel is starting to be old and they are making renovations. We had an apartment room so I don't know was breakfast OK. Hotel is far from the center of Carmen, so it is not so good for shopping or party, but if you are looking for quiet place then it is OK.
