The next day we went for a walking tour of Sao Paulo. The guy spoke really good English and we got to see loads of the city on foot. The city has a varied history and a long history of corruption.
After the tour we grabbed a 15 hour bus out of the city to head to the Argentinean/Paraguayan/Brazilian Boarder, or as most know it as, Iguaçu Falls
... pigs knuckles, snout or tongue. Fortunately they also serve this dish with the meats separated out so we could take what we want. I also found out that Brazilian desert is VERY sweet! Nevertheless, Dolce de Leite is worth the extra carbs! Our first meal in Brazil and our first all-u-can-eat (but not our last!).
Well we still had some time before check-in so it was off to Estado Municipal (Municipal Stadium). I'm no soccer fan, but it was fun to go ...
... area of Higienopolis in downtown Sao Paolo. One of the biggest highlights of the day was getting to see the Estadio Municipal Paolo Machado de Carvalho which our tour guide told us was the futbol stadium where such greats like Pele, Ronaldo and Rohnaldinho have all played before.

... It was the story of two famous singers, father and son, and their complicated relationship. In my opinion, good movie, great soundtrack. From the movies, we wandered over to Livraria Cultural (Cultural Bookstore). It was HUGE. The store has three floors of books, movies, and music with an emphasis on the book. Honestly, I could have spent all day in the Livraria! However, our stomachs started speaking to us louder than the books. We headed to a ...
... the following will not be infused with philosophical insights, however I do have some words of wisdom to share with you - well to be fair they are actually just some top tips.
Anyway a few pieces of advice that will be going in my book - "Gap years for people who are bordering on being anal, have obviously created a spreadsheet for the trip and with a perchant for putting things in zip Lock bags and money bags".
