Our first stop was to be Praia (Beach) Inglese on the Northern side of the island, but as the bus meandered its way around the northern island we got a little confused. Over the past three weeks, I've been celebrating Carnaval with Brazilians and foreigners alike. The weekend before Carnaval I spent time with my friend’s roommate in Sao Paulo, attending a pre-Carnaval street party in Vila Madalena, a very lively dinner with a dozen of his friends, and a formal graduation dinner and dance party, all in one night. The mood was simply electric! After realizing the extent of my stay (10 days and after wasting one morning bus ticket), I eventually ...
