Parthenon Curitiba Aspen Residence

Arrived in Curitiba today so I can have meetings with a potential supplier on Sunday. Depending on how that goes, I'll either need to go and have another meeting in Sao Paulo on Monday, or go somewhere else in Brasil to meet with another supplier. Either way, looks like I won't be getting home until Tues or Wed now ...

Tomorrow, I'm headed to my favorite beach in Brazil (Ilha do Cardoso) for a few days to meet my friend from Rio. It'll be nice to finally be on the beach! Then I'll continue to head south towards Uruguay.<br>

... we found a Walmart store, they are called "Big" here, and did lots of shopping. We were going to walk around the historic center, but as usual we could not find it and it is a very big town so we gave up and just drove out and parked at a Posto for the night.

... the penultimate stop and the vast majority of people got off. The train driver told us that we could stay on and go to the final stop by the sea or get off here. We decided to keep going - Big Mistake! The next stop ended up being a further 2 and a half hours away, partly because the train decided to slow down to the pace of a snail. We literally inched along (walkers were passing us quite rapidly) and our pace was made all the worst ...

... of the trip was for the journey which meanders very slowly (they have to make you feel you´ve got your money´s worth on the 20 pound return fare by making the journey last as long as they can) through lush Mata Atlantica forest, rounding mountains and traversing valleys on its way. It was a little long for a daytrip, but it was stunningly beautiful scenery so it was worth it. (R)

... and now runs as a tourist line. Sunday morning I was at the airport (I had booked a flight back) under more chilly and overcast weather. Arrived in Rio to 35 degrees Celsius. Oh ya...THAT's the stuff! I felt completely re-energized back in the sun and heat, I just needed to get a dose of beach. You'd think I have solar panels on my back or something, that's how driven I am by heat. Got back to my home-sweet-home and got ready for the week of work that lay ahead.

Eigentlich gibt es nichts Neues zu berichten. Von den fabelhaften Wasserfaellen im Drei-Laender-Eck bin ich gemeinsam mit Bernardo, mit dem ich nun einige Zeit verbringen werde, weil wir beide das gleiche Ziel (Mexico bzw. Los Angeles) haben, wieder nach Curitiba gefahren. Dort haben wir uns ein wenig ins Nachtleben gestuerzt, aber im allgemeinen sind die Curitibanos sehr langweilig und reserviert.
