I drove over to Teddy Roosevelt National Park, near Mandan, and drove around the loop. This is the time of year when it has the most color. It was interesting to me to see the same places I saw last April, when it was winter. Quite a difference. I enjoyed watching the cute, fat prairie dogs. They whistled their alarms when they saw me and the air was filled with the sound of their whistles. Saw the bison, and one wild mustang.
Medora, North Dakota, United States poodlady... capital in Bismarck and the other is in Ray (down a dirt road and even more remote). As they say, in for a penny-in for a pound. The first two courses I played were very nice but nothing really special. Everyone had said 'Oh yea, but wait till you get to Bully Pulpit, the views are spectacular. They were correct.
The photos were the best I could do in between hitting the little white ball and oohing and ahhing

Roosevelt often reflected that he 'would have never been President if it had not been for his experiences in North Dakota'. We spent four days here in the south unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park and can understand how this part of the country had such an effect on our future President. It ...
Here's some photos along the drive from Montana to Wisconsin. The buffalo was not staged, he was gone right after I took the picture. A guy at the park suggested I take a short hike down into the valley, I'm really glad I did. It was beautiful.
Medora, North Dakota, United States sjandbuddy... Angus has a tire swing right outside our door and lots of little kids always calling his name ! The pool has the most beautiful view of the rock cliffs that line the Yellowstone River which we are a stone's throw away from! Well, we are getting close to the end of our journey but there are still parts of Montana left to explore which hopefully we will be getting to soon!

... fallen into southern Utah and their visitor's center was full of fossils that had been dug up there. Then, it was on to I-94 and North Dakota. The only stops in North Dakota were for gas, where we noticed that all the car washes started with a bug prep, which made since as the bug-splatter here was even worse than Montana. Besides some pretty hills and interesting rock formations, the ...

I drove through the Killdeer Mountains (only North Dakota would call these hills "mountains"!) and through some of the beautiful badlands of North Dakota.
Day 1 (August 31) The car was PACKED and ready to go by 8:30 and with Brian's baby(his bike) strapped on the back, the three of us were ready to hit the road! We were soon in Idaho admiring the scenery and a new view of the Tetons from the other side. Who would have guessed, but the World's ...
Glendive, Montana, United States hannahandbrian... you stay on Alaska Time the entire time you are on the ferry, regardless of what time zone you may be in, so you step off it and suddenly you are on Pacific time zone one hour ahead and then we crossed over to Montana last night which bumped us to Mountain Time Zone which we will be staying in until we cross the time zone again near Mandan, North Dakota. So anyway, tonight's stop is at Glendive, Montana and tomorrow's stop is Baxter, Minnesota and ...
