Day 1 f my travels and saying goodbye was the hardest thing I had to do. Poor cab driver was sitting in the cab for about 5-10 minutes while I was crying and saying goodbye to John. At one point he said to me "I'm gonna marry you one day." To which I giggled and said "You bet our ass ...
Guildford, England, United Kingdom jparente... Kensington Gardens? The place that I visited just this morning. And here I was thinking "cool I am going to visit 2 different parts of London in one day." No wonder Londoners are fond of walking! Anyway, Trafalgar square did have quiet a few restaurants and lots of people. Nelson's Column was HUGE! The whole area was surrounded by buldings. It is a very nice place to visit especially at night when all the street lights come on. It really brightnes up the area.
London, England, United Kingdom ivjtravelertale... I unplugged myself and settled down into a nice sleep; of course that never actually happened. By now we had rounded the world and the sun had arisen so that I could see the glare around the blinds brought down over the windows and as a result I instead seemed to go into a trance-like state of apathy, while attempting to lose consciousness. This of course was a state of affairs which proved to be short lived as arrival procedures now started to take place. Out of the ...
London, England, United Kingdom tragamor... have been to Harrod's before and normally wouldn't go see it again, but I thought there might be some special Christmas theme or displays. I was wrong. The Christmas Wonderland section looked like it was already being dismantled. The food halls were cool as always - now they serve dim sum, and there's also a Krispy Kreme franchise. I guess it's still a novelty for Europeans, unlike in North America where nobody cares about them any ...

Guildford, United Kingdom embem87... building was constructed in 1909 as Michelin's first permanent British headquarters. A Michelin employee actually designed it, and it became a bar and restaurant when the company moved out in the 1980s. "Bibendum" is the Michelin Man's proper name, for you Goodyear people out there! I then made my way via tube to St. Paul's. Sadly, there was no sign of the Bird Lady from "Mary Poppins." Nor were there ...
London, United Kingdom cami_w... was really loving heathrow at this point...after an hour of waiting decided to walk around and i managed to find my bag but couldn't find john's and because i had been waiting so long i panicked that maybe we had missed each other. looked around all the carousels and couldn't find him so went back upstairs to immigration control, which was a mission, and was almost in tears wondering if he had gone through customs already. luckily found ...
London, United Kingdom oliviar22I have noticed over the past few days how it seems people in London appear to travel round the Capital in a constant rush. Having spent a couple of days a few weeks ago on Caye Caulker - a chilled out island in Belize - it is unbelievable to note the contrast between the two places. Everything in London is a million miles an hour - Caye Caulker is almost stationary by comparison - it has the Lyrical King and his mate Robbie sauntering down the main sandy street trying to ...
Guildford, United Kingdom phildee76I didn't have to go to school today because I was leaving with my family to go down to Albany. I was unable to meet up with my teacher though the day before so I had to go in to find her. I didn't find her when I arrived so I stayed a while and planned for next week. As soon as I was done I went home to pack for the weekend. When I got home my host dad was on his way out for a bike ride with the dog so I grabbed the spare bike and went along. It was pretty warm ...
