We hit the road with no set agenda. Our destination was Yellowstone but we knew it was a really long drive. When planning the trip we hadn't been able to find a suitable stopover point so we were playing it by ear. It was quite a nice feeling just to be driving and see where we turned up.
Wyoming was wide open plains with ...
... of Scotts Bluff and forget the whole Pioneer Village thing.....on second thought that day will live in infamy in our family forever!
From there we headed to Wyoming. On the way we stopped to see some amazing wagon trail ruts in Gurnsey, WY. Yes folks, WE ARE NUTS FOR RUTS! They were pretty amazing really...check out the photo with Maria standing in them. All the wagons were forced into this one bottleneck area ...

Casper, Wyoming, United States curtisallen1956... to Red Lodge. It¡¦s a very town cute and the drive to it is so pretty too. Very cute small towns on the way (Joliet) and all the orange/red/green and in between colors on the trees and bushes are making this a picture perfect drive. And right after Red Lodge is where ¡§the big road¡¨ starts. Bear tooth Highway. This is a Highway for sure. The highest point on the road is almost 11.000 feet! Every time you think that you¡¦re on top, it goes higher and ...
Casper, Wyoming, United States hendrikaThe morning of the 8th I saw that my rear tire was getting badly worn from highway miles and heavy luggage - 'squared off' as they say, a flat strip doen the middle, which ruins your handling, and the tread was almost gone. I found a bike shop in Casper that had a tire for me, which is ideal because that's the way I was heading. So after a breakfast in Interior of pancakes from 100 year old starter dough ...
Casper, Wyoming, United States bocaleeWe left at 6am on July 17 from Casper Airport. A long day of flying via Denver, Toronto to London. We were on United and Air Canada flights. All the flights were fine, except Michelle's luggage did not arrive in London when we did. We arrived in London at 7am or so.
Casper, Wyoming, United States metruff... song by one lady in the front. She was really cute, and you could tell she loved the show! Well, I must take a shower now. It will be my last chance before Thanksgiving Day back in Nashville. We are traveling through the night tomorrow so that we can get to the airport to make all our flights home. Hopefully, there won't be any delays or cancellations and I will get home on time!
Casper, Wyoming, United States ericalee... wyoming was not particularly memorable, a water fall and the black hills - but as these are mainly in south dakota. nevertheless there are a few nice pictures
Wyoming, Wyoming, United States reisenachinnen... tunes. That made it a little lonely! Towards the end of the day, had a great ride into Salt Lake City from the east...great road, great scenery. Stayed with good friends Sean and Michelle and baby Taryn (though the latter two were out of town). Happy birthday, Michelle!
Salt Lake City, Utah, United States angyoungYeah, yeah, yeah. Road trips are fun except for the fact that your in a car mostly all the time. Got to move into a motor home, Yes! Free walkin around, no more motion sickness, get to act silly to other car drivers. You know, good all makin silly faces at other cars. Good times, and oh ya I get to sleep, much much better.
