... ago. We went on the Foothills Parkway around the West side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We jumped on 321 in to Townsend and entered the GSMNP on Little River Road. We went to Gatlinburg rather than the planned stop in Pigeon Forge because of our late start and the threat of rain. Gatlinburg is a unique and interesting town: almost like a beach town/boardwalk minus the beach, but not very biker friendly. Parking is awful and some lots don't allow motorcycles and you ...

Day 1 NC Roads: The Rattler

We got a pretty early start today: the goal was to be on the road between 9:30 and 10 and we did. After we got a picture taken of course. We headed out of Robbinsville on 143 to Hwy 28 S (Moonshiner's 28) to 74 for a little bit before we could get onto 19N. I will have to come back to actually check it out.

As I was riding today, I was hoping that this effort will actually change ...

... still wanted to let loose.

We continued through the forest until we came to one of the larger picnic areas and campgrounds. We found a spot to park and got Harley out to do some looking around. The creek runs through the campground so it was my turn to take off my shoes and get into the water with Harley. It was pretty cold, alright. Fortunately it was only ankle deep and not running very fast and the streambed was mostly sandy.

A Day in Gatlinburg

... Visitors Center. It was lunch time and the ride to and through Cades Cove is pretty long and we were not sure about food availability so we turned around and went to Gatlinburg. We rode down the main street and then settled on lunch at the Park Grill. We had the salad bar and split a burger. It wasn’t very good to me and a bit pricey for lunch but we were able to remain parked there so I included the ...
