... up - had breakfast on Beale Street. I ordered a omelette with a side of 'biscuit and gravy.' This is supposed to be one of Memphis special dishes and Fiona wanted me to try it and let her know what it was!! It was basically a scone with a white sauce that sort of tasted like the mash potato in the 'mash potato and gravy' from KFC!! Actually not too bad but I don't understand the name for it! ... 8217; life.

That was the last stop at the mansion grounds and the bus took us back to the other side of the street so we could continue our tour. Of course, the bus drops you off right at the booth where your pictures are being hocked. We walked around and went to the car museum instead.

The car museum housed a number of cars and other motorized vehicles that Elvis owned. Some of the cars on display were donated to the museum by ...

We also got to see his two airplanes (one even had a bed in it - with a safety seat belt inbuilt as well), his car collection (including his pink Cadillac), a bunch of history and a giant collection of his clothes. There was one point in his career where he was doing 2 nights a week for 30 days. It's just insane. I have a whole new appreciation for his music now.

After Graceland, we went and checked out Beale Street - the main drag in Memphis. Beale ...

... we had to get shuttles to the main house,
so we had to line up, but there was a continuous line of shuttles so
the line moved fast. At the house there was an audio tour and you
just walked from the start following the signs to the exit, there was
lots to see including his record collection and the furry walls. The
audio tour went to the garden, but by now the rain had picked up so
we moved through the area quickly. Then the house was finished, so ...
