The Gateway Arch also known as the gateway to the west is another American iconic landmark. I've been here several times on my layovers, and it's still one of my favorite places to visit.

I've often wondered why they chose that shape and its true purpose. Some conspiracy theorists say they built it in stainless steel structure so it can produce an ionic pulse, ...

... used to be actually on the river but when they rebuilt it after the flood, they attached it firmly to the ground. The buffet we had heard about at the Casino did not serve on Mondays. The park where the arch is located was being worked on and was closed off from the river road. Unhappy campers! We did finally find a great place to eat but decided we would leave the city the next day.
