... and then decided we had better get going for our train trip home.

Encountered a sprinkle of rain whilst walking to the train and came across the most amazing light show yet. Watched for a little while, but plan to revisit this spot again on Monday night, hopefully in fine weather.

After a little help from locals, we got back to Wynyard, boarded a packed train and arrived back in Lane Cove at 10.30 p.m

... it’s quite something to see and when you can hear the music as well it’s really quite spectacular. Mel treated Paul and I to a boat trip around the harbour one evening where we could see all the lights at their best, it was wonderful, they even gave us a welcome drink and provided snacks via a lovely wee Spanish waitress who was very good at balancing her plates on the somewhat choppy waters of the harbour. ... amazing stop as we visited Mon Repos Turtle Centre to see baby loggerhead turtles hatching at night. We arrived as an entire school trip of 7 years olds turned up (cue a lot of complaining and eye rolling from us), luckily we were in group 4 and never saw them again! After about 3 hours at the centre it was our turn to see the hatching and it was incredible to see them dig their way out of the nest and run down to the sea.
