We were greeted kindly though by a very tired looking concierge and shown to our room where we could not have been happier. Our bags were dumped on the ground and then our bodies in the luxuriously comfortable bed of a nice 4 star hotel, for a fantastic nights sleep.

Things Istanbul has more of: barbershops, cats, bread shops, fruit shops, men fishing off bridges, kebabs, old men drinking tea and playing cards, young men doing nothing, cats again.

... covered bazaars in the world. It consists of 61 covered streets and over 3000 shops. You can find all sorts of handmade local as well as imported goods. It's easy to get lost in there - there are over 14 entrances into the bazaar itself. It was quite fun to just walk around and see everything that was being sold - and meet some of the Turkish salesmen.
