Off to Manchester after supper to be next to the airport for the early morning flight! Need to check in at 6.40 am (sigh)... But very excited to get on the way! Hoping for an upgrade due to it being my birthday (10th feb), however, will be very surprised if i get one! Fingers crossed. Etihad flight to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi ...

... free WiFi. However, I should have paid more attention to some of the minor details like…..towel rails in the bathroom; room to place a suitcase or two! However, the river is just under our window and the wifi works fine… we got what we ‘asked for’.

A walk along through Albert Docks, the Liverpool Museum and the Ferry Terminal ends the day for us. Looking forward to tomorrow as we have a full day ...

... a musical history lesson walking around looking at the signed posters and memorabilia. It is very cavern-like, downstairs with very low walls and tiny brick-walled sections with a small stage. Everyone who comes in signs the brick walls which are just covered in names; but without a sharpie it was hard to add our own. They should sell Sharpies at the bar!!

... our boys began to win the 50/50 balls and started getting opportunities on goal. Their pressure led to a defensive error by Galacticos that allowed Trevor to score a brilliant goal to put us up 2-1. The defense held strong and the boys were able to finish off their tour with a well deserved victory in their final game. ...

Today was Stratford to Liverpool. We stopped in Chester, the town centre which is ringed by Roman walls! I wonder if the locals even realise how amazing it is that they can walk along the tops of ancient walls, as we would walk along a footpath! The town centre is pedestrianised, and full of hidden walkways, and two storey rows of shops. We had a cheezy bit with a town crier and then went our own ways.
