      ... for us as it's where we get onto the Eurovélo 6 route, that goes from Nante on the Atlantic coast of France through Budapest to Istanbul. We did part of it along the Loire River last year and will be following it from here on back into France. So we were excited to see the first Eurovélo 6 sign on the town side of the bridge. We know where we'll be going tomorrow - always a comforting feeling!

      ... the "Sampling Room". In this room there were about 35 varieties of their chocolates laid out for, well... sampling. Ranging from simple milk chocolate to dark chocolate truffles filled with coffee cream. Walking through I sampled 23 of the 35 flavours (leaving out many of the coffee and super dark ones) It was well worth the detour to see some Swiss chocolate in the making!

      That afternoon I headed to my next stop -- Interlaken!

      ... my painting tradition and paint the room first before moving in. Tabita, my “landlord” is an energetic and easy going 50+ with whom I will be sharing the bathroom and kitchen with. I am looking forward to having my own 4 walls again and settling in for a bit more than just a temporary situation. It is a new start again alright! Now I hope that the job situation will work out soon too so that I can pay my rent...

      We had planned a trip to Lucerne, a city famous for its surrounding scenery and covered bridges that span the Ruess River. I was there in high school and remember a lot of shops devoted almost exclusively to cow bells, hand carved clocks, Swiss army knives, chocolates and beer steins, but I guess these touristy items were not selling well enough because those shops are now gone. They have been replaced by stores of global ubiquity selling universally available items ...
