          Matt and I headed off to the Koelner Zoo on the metro. It was lovely: very green, glass exclosures. There was a big family of elephants (about 16), 3 hippos who were having fun in the water and making loud noises and showing off their large teeth. Matt loved the orangatangs (the babies were playing) and the cheetahs (who were prowling up and down). A flock of flaming pink flamingo's and long legged ducks.

          ... half, lousy second half, Man U ended up winning easily. There were two main sites in Hasselt. The first was the jenever museum, which is all about the local drink, a lot like gin but better, in my opinion. The second was the Japanese garden, quite a walk from the main city centre but well worth it…very beautiful. I didn’t get my jacket, but I’ll definitely come back here ...

          ... Imagine around a thousand screaming children, suffocating chloride swimming pool smell and people feasting on burgers and fries from a place that smells even worse. Whoohoo fun!
