... called Jungfrau. Apparently incredible views of the mountains & Europes longest/largest glacier 'Aletsch', snow & ice all year round. It's very expensive to get to the top 180 franc & with the bad weather not clearing enough for the two days we are in Switzerland it would be a waste of money & we are advised to skip it. On our return to Lauterbrunnen we wander through a few shops & purchase some Swiss chocolate from the supermarket. Our busabout ...

So as you can see from my last Instagram photos/facebook check-ins, my previous holidays destination was SWITZERLAND!

At first, I was a bit disappointed with the last available tour because whenever I think of Switzerland, I always think of "Lausanne", it's one of the popular city that's located in Switzerland. Swiss Day reminds us a lot of home. While we missed out on Canada Day celebrations last month, Swiss Day has been a nice taste of the relaxed fun we would have had with friends and family. The bonfires are still flickering along the ridges surrounding the lake and families are still celebrating outside, but we are off to bed, thinking of our loved ones.

... and smoking my pipe while Jimmy Buffet played over the speakers? Most definitely. Did I care? Nope

On the way back through the old town, I ran across what was the start of a religious procession called Corpi Domini. I had seen the other villages’ streets lined with flowers that day, but Monterosso went all out with their decorations. The street leading from the sea to the church was covered with a series of intricate ...

... the station. Thankfully it wasn't raining, as that's the forecast for today. It took about 15 minutes and didn't seem overly difficult.

It was strange to be walking through the dark and deserted streets of the old town that only a few short hours ago were filled with happy diners and locals on their evening Passegiata. The tunnel was mostly deserted except for one or two people going to work, and there was a noticeable void of the cheerful music ...
