... and the scenery is mind-blowing on the last train from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch. Presided over by glacier encrusted monoliths Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau (meaning Orgre, Monk and Virgin) the scenery is uplifting. The big three peaks have an enduring place in mountaineering legend, particularly that of 3970 m Eiger that claimed lives and remained unconquered until 1938, the train goes through many open landslide protected tunnels and then ...

... times and directions and we were on our way. But first, we walked over to EWL (the Swiss version of So Cal Edison) store front that sells electric appliances (its like if Edison had a store that sold light bulbs and flashlights…weird) to see if we could buy a new laptop charger. Kyle’s laptop charger died the other night in the middle of a Skype conversation. Our options looked more and more limited as we are in a pretty isolated area. But, they ...

... gets unbelievably steeper. If you stood up straight, you would fall backwards, so you climb hunched over, trying to keep your hands from scraping on the ground. Luckily it is only a stretch of about 75 yards and we make the saddle. Time to sit and ponder why we do these things. Looking around, we remember as we can once again absorb the beauty of the alps and see down the valley to Kandersteg and and up the other side to all we conquered yesterday. We talk to ...
