We went to a Cafe Paris Bryan had found online and thought he could get a nice breakfast. Turns out they don't really serve breakfast and are more of a lunch spot so a coffee and croissant would have to do. I had Swiss sausage and potato cuttings for lunch and sat outside in the fresh air. However nice this may have seemed I was soon to be bombarded with loads of Black birds trying to steal my food. These animals were not afraid either and would come right up to my plate and eat anything given. A quick smack on the beak would scare them off but they would be back again within minutes.

... gets unbelievably steeper. If you stood up straight, you would fall backwards, so you climb hunched over, trying to keep your hands from scraping on the ground. Luckily it is only a stretch of about 75 yards and we make the saddle. Time to sit and ponder why we do these things. Looking around, we remember as we can once again absorb the beauty of the alps and see down the valley to Kandersteg and and up the other side to all we conquered yesterday. We talk to ...
