      ... for my small fear of heights. We climbed higher and higher. Slowly getting the full view of Interlaken and Matten the village next door. Eventually we saw almost the entire valley. I couldn't wait until the tram pulled into it's station and we could get off. I thought at any moment the tram would just fall off the tracks and go flying down the mountain. At the too the tram slowed and eventually stopped but no station was in view so in that moment I thought my time had come. ...

      ... brakes wouldn't fail us. Once at the base of the hills again, there were more tunnels, and we drove through the St Gotthard Tunnel which is 17 k long, not a very interesting 17 k of our trip.       This morning we woke up in a complete white-out. It was fantastic :) We spent the first ten minutes of the day just ooh'ing and ahh'ing outside at all the snow flakes. It had started snowing the night before while we were eating our delicious cheese fondue dinner, but apparently had continued all night long, and our deck was covered in at least 7in of fresh powder.       ... gets unbelievably steeper. If you stood up straight, you would fall backwards, so you climb hunched over, trying to keep your hands from scraping on the ground. Luckily it is only a stretch of about 75 yards and we make the saddle. Time to sit and ponder why we do these things.
