    ... top of the bell tower for some great views. Our favorite museum was the Science and Physics museum, which had cool exhibits on science from the 16th and 17th centuries when Prussia was at its height. Dresden was a key city in Prussia which included Eastern Germany and what's now W. Poland.

    Today will be tough to describe. We got up early to catch a bus to Terezin. Terezin was originally built in the late 18th Century as a fortification against the Germans. It was then used as a political prison under the Hapsburgs. By the time the Nazis decided to use it as a concentration camp Terezin had become a thriving town. All of the inhabitants were made to leave and the Jews, first from Prague and Brno, then the larger Reich were moved in. Life there was obviously very difficult. ...

    ... town of Pirna then got a train back. Pirna was a typical larger town with many charming old buildings, town square, cobblestone walkways, churches etc, so hard to take! The public transport in this country is most efficient, back to our hotel was so easy. Sunday was a much more strenuous day.
