... over it - where are the messy parts of this country? I found one cabin in the forest, actually, where someone had perhaps tried to keep warm with newspaper, and left it there - that's the ONLY mess I saw in the forest! Now, in the countryside, I saw horse manure and 3 cigarette packets - well, where did they come from!!?? How sad of those people to spoil the record of NO litter!!

So, what I learned in the countryside is that the farmers only have a few ...

... you know the time 24/7 (handy in the wee hours of the morning) firstly the catholic church clock rings, then a few minutes later, the protestant church bells ring - I'm not sure yet who's early and who's late!!

Yves hired a car for us for the weekend, so he drove Jake and I to some places of interest and delight! Saturday, we wandered through Appenzell with lovely little shops on the street for pedestrians only, we had a picnic at the base ...

The Hohenzollern Castle is also beautiful in its own way. It was constructed in the early 11th century and still manages to captivate almost everyone with its history and beautiful architecture. When looking out from the castle terraces you are able to see such vast landscapes, mostly just forest..but that's okay!
