... option of cog train all the way down. There where two trains left for the day - 3:30pm or 4:30pm. Not wanting to hang around longer than needed, and being about 20 minutes away from the train station, we made a dash for it. And success! Made it. Not an exciting trip at all (inside a cave for 3.5km). It took about 1.5 hours to get down. Which is comparable to the 1.5 hour+ line up we would have had to make on the cable car. So back in the car and back ...

After waking up to another beautiful day in Munich, we take a cab to Sixt to pick up our 2015 BMW 530d; a fantastic car! We stop at a square on the outskirts of Munich for some pizza and calzones at an Italian cafe before making our journey to Innsbruck, Austria. Cruising down the German autobahn towards Austria is a sight that cannot be explained properly with words. It is breathtakingly beautiful and we are both in awe of the Alps that are surrounding us. Also, ...

Sun (July 26) - Our Sunday morning walk in Innsbruck started by passing a group of nuns who were having much fun singing with each other. As we came into view they continued signing with full voices. Innsbruck has towering mountains pressed up against the city. We took a gondola up to the highest peak (Hafelekar) and hiked part of the way down (see pics). The slopes were wicked steep and we were wishing we had our trekking poles with us. As we headed out ...

... lynx, wolf, brown bear and beaver. My favourite was the lynx! Yesterday we took a bus trip to a nearby town called Wattens. Kate's grandfather used to live and work in this town so she was trying to track down some of his friends or relatives of his friends. Working with some handwritten names and addresses we did some investigating, we found some people that knew the people that we were looking for, but did not actually find the people. Does that make sense? Also in ...
