... I'm allergic to sulphur and not mad on lava oozing into my living space.

Best to bail.

But having said that, we DID harvest some pretty cool friends in Bali -- Kathleen Frye, Lisa Kusel and Loy for a start.

So now we'll never know what we'd have harvested in Hilo but one thing's for sure.

SOMETHING will eventually come along to fill our cornucopia.

For a start, ANDY's coming this week for 4 days! Hooray!

Our stay in the United Kingdom this time is only about five days. We had travelled fairly extensively throughout the British Isles on our last trip and we always had planned to head South. The few days here were really only for getting over jet lag and for playing golf. Having done that, we hit the road to head to Birmingham and our flights to Spain.

Woke this morning to yet more rain, so had a brunch and read a few magazines on trips to Europe, to try and envisage a whole day of sun!!!! ... sanitary station. The lockkeeper does not live there anymore, as the “flood-proof” cottage that was in use in 2005 was flooded out in 2007. Nicholson Guide of 2012 still describes it as flood-proof.

Further upstream the flow was a little faster, and at one point we were stirring up the gravel. The next lock was George Billington Lock at Offenham. Once again some of the visitor moorings have been replaced by moorings for a new sanitary ...

The visa had actually expired on 1st September but I explained to him that that was the date by which she had to enter the UK and then could stay for up to 180 days but he was having any of it.
