Sydney

G'day sports!

... a day in bed it seemed so I took myself off for the day with my camera and map like a proper little tourist. I did the expected, The Navy base, The Botanical Gardens, The Sydney Opera House and The Sydney Harbour Bridge. This isn't a city I have ever had the urge to come too but I have to admit it is quite nice. I was actually quite impressed with the Opera House - some interesting architecture and that is saying something coming from someone who only has a real love for all ...

Gefuehlte 125 Stunden wachbleiben....

Sydney Marathon

... to be for the marathon people but how can you tell people that they can't have a drink when they've just finished a run in the hot sun. So they decided we should go grab some boxes of the water pouches but one of them started complaining that they didn't have enough, so after alot of flapping they blocked off the isotonic drinks with cups of water. The next problem was there were so many people stood at the water stands that when the elite runners ...

blue hour in Sydney

The city of surf, reflecting lights and good-value asian food has us back. It feels as if Sydney has more inhabitants than the whole of Western Australia, and still it is a pleasant city. We are coming to an end of our travels through Australia, preparing for the next adventure: Chile awaits us midst of octobre, que bueno!

goodmorning for you - goodnight for me

... sunrise and the whales - def need to do it but every one is slacking so im not sure if ill get it fit in by the time i leave - which would really suck because those are the kinds of things im here to see and experience - things you will probably never see or do again - partying you can do anytime, anywhere - why ruin such an amazing experience to follow the crowd?

does that make me not fun/cool? or make me see the better things in life....you tell me

love you all

Saying G’day to Sydney

... event – Colin got his first ever hole in one! It is tradition that if someone gets a hole in one they buy the beers at the 19th hole to celebrate – Paul was very upset to find that this golf club didn’t have a bar, fortunately Colin made up for it in the pub later!

One of my favourite days was when we visited Palm Beach – better known as Home & Away’s Summer Bay! It is ...

... celebrations. This was a great night as we were able to sit right on the harbour with our legs dangling into the water and watch as jetskis ripped around the harbour setting off incredible fireworks from the water. Also in sydney, we went for a cruise around the harbour which included a two course dinner and sparkling wine. Sounds beautiful, and it was in parts - particularly heading out to the decking and watching all the lights of the city flicker on ...

2 years....no way long enough!

... population, lured there originally by the banana growing industry. It was a funny little place but we had a superb meal at The Bluebottle Bistro where you can often see Russell Crowe having a coffee and a natter with the locals. He has a property along the coast and I can definitely understand why he would choose to live in that area. It was about now that we realised we weren't going to get down to Sydney in time to use the flights ...

... Americans here, and girls here actually like the American accent (a first in my travels, which have mostly been in Europe) Dislikes: The snottiness of so many clubs and bars Not being able to wear flip flops out to the bars at night The ridiculous drinking rules (no shots after midnight, no entry/re-entry into a club after 2, regardless of how late it is open, bar shutting down for 10 minutes of every hour after midnight) Excessive taxes on drinking ...
