Toronto....Worthy of a Stop? I Doubt It!

For the start of our Abu Dhabi adventure, Chicago delays and incompetent travel agents gave Jen and I the opportunity to spend three days in Toronto (August 1-4).

Toronto is what you make of it. Our limited budget allowed for dinners at Jack Astors, skunky Canadian beer, and a walk around a lakefront that makes Milwaukee's lakefront look like a Carribean beach. Needless to say, we were happy to get the hell out of Toronto.

Pics to follow...

The 3 hour delay

We arrive at the Toronto airport at 3pm and our plane leaves at 6pm to Zurich, Switzerland. Then we find out that there is a three hour delay and we are actually leaving at 9pm. We ended up taking the airport tram from terminal 1 to terminal 3 to find a better restaurant and all we could find was Swiss Chalet. It was a long journey for an average meal.. we are looking forward to some European cuisine. We ...

The lasts of everything...

Yesterday started off the countdown of the lasts of everything...(for now) Yesterday was my last Friday in Niagara, my last retail shift, and my last phone call to bell mobility. Today will be the last Saturday, the last time I see Auntie Adele, and everyone from Toronto. Today is though the first time Shelby gets married and hopefully the ...

Toronto March 14 - 23

... Felt pretty bad to be back, I could have stayed in Toronto for a lot longer - like the rest of my life (which by the way, I'm looking into doing) It was a wonderful week in a fantastic city. It was exhausting with many late, boozy nights and god only knows how many miles I walked during the days, but fueled by breakfasts from Fran's and The Senator and coffee from Tim Horton's I made it! Thank you Toronto, as Arnie would say - I'll be back!

... is a long time, when the earth is moving... -- but there was no observable damage in Arequipa (which is approximately 1000km south of Lima). The GVI volunteers and project manager (Carla) have been able to confirm that the school is in good shape and that the kids are safe and sound. School is re-opening today, which is fantastic news. As for Ica and Pisco, which were hit very hard, the loss of life ...

Niagara Gorge

NIAGARA GORGE Hiking the Niagara Gorge is a secret to locals and should be done by anyone that is in the Niagara region. There are a few ways that you can accomplish this. 1) Buy a ticket and walk along a board walk (not recommended) or Hike (for free) to the bottom and enjoys the Niagara River up close and personal. The Gorge runs 12km between the Falls and Niagara Escartment at Queenston Heights and hugs ...
