For the start of our Abu Dhabi adventure, Chicago delays and incompetent travel agents gave Jen and I the opportunity to spend three days in Toronto (August 1-4).
Toronto is what you make of it. Our limited budget allowed for dinners at Jack Astors, skunky Canadian beer, and a walk around a lakefront that makes Milwaukee's lakefront look like a Carribean beach. Needless to say, we were happy to get the hell out of Toronto.

... though.) We didn't have to wait in line for the tickets to Maid of the Mist, which was included. That was a bonus. We stopped to wander around the beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. And to top the day off, we went to a winery for some free wine tasting.
All in all, it was a good day.
... was a bit interesting because I had a little bit of extra stuff. So therefore it took a lot of shuffling to get my bags past go. I handed out granola bars to the people in line. It was fun. When I got to Toronto I was quite tired so I thought I would go and have a nap. Now I'm feeling all refreshed and organized. Ready for an overnight to London and a little sightseeing during my layover. Hope to be in touch soon.

Have you ever noticed that flying east takes so much less time, at least on the really long hauls. I didn't mind flying from Seoul to SFO as it was a bit over 7 hours but the trip back was 9! blast, they couldn't go the same way so they had to make it longer. not happy with this. As hubby dear is working rotational and I only get to see him every ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada carpefeline... large city centre, ordinary and well-organised but I guess we’ve seen a few now. They had an excellent mall and a lot of really interesting niche shops. I spent some time buying up at my new favourite clothes brand, the Canadian owned ‘Roots’ brand. (Funny, I’ve never had a favourite clothing brand before. I guess travelling the world opens up your perceptions… your perceptions of fashion!)

... Favela Funk party I went to with William (thanks dude it was the best night out ever). From Rio I flew back to SP to get my flight back to BsAs. Argentina part two. I came back to a slightly warmer BsAs for another week, I finally got up to Iguazu this time and OMG!!! That has got to be the most impressive waterfall I have ever seen, I saw it from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides. While I was up there and met a couple of travellers from the States Uyen and Eddie, we hung ...

Toronto, Ontario, Canada tourcasterHumber bay park is a nice place to have a walk during the week-end. I have been there in april but I guess it is different in summer at which time people can swim in Ontari lake.
Humber bay is located in the west-south part of Toronto, after Hight park (close to Kings Mill or Jane Subway station). If you like walking you can for example start at Bloot st. west and Jane st. and walk through Etienne Brule then Kings Mill park to go in Humber bay park. It take maybe 1:30/2:00 ...
... crowd was about 90% African American. Even though I've lived in the world's most multi-ethnic city, Canada is still a whitebread country. It's the first time I've ever felt like a minority and I had the chance to enter into the mind of somebody who faces this everyday. I think I was having too good a time to let it affect me adversely though. What really made me laugh however was the fact that on the night the party crowd was overwhelmingly black, the karaoke bar was ...
