... say that the drive there was not a little scary would be an understatement! We found ourselves driving through a horrendous snow storm which seemed to come out of nowhere, and the last 50km of the journey were punctuated with cars ditching in front of us and me fighting a constant battle with our car that wanted to join them there.
We eventually arrived safely in downtown Fernie, we headed for somewhere to get food and a few beers. We chose Rip ...
We are currently at Fernie, staying with a friends, we have left the Rv in Cochrane and are here with one of Jos cousins, her aunt and and assortment of cousins children. The golfing is great in this little town and fishing the Elk river is great, we caught lots of ...

Crossed the Rockies, left Jasper National Park behind as we travel through the Kootenay region, past Fort Steele and stop at Cranbrook. Hope the truck is ready as promised tomorrow, we will drive to Kalispell once more and re-visit Eureka MT on the way. What gorgeous weather we have been granted!

together with the current locals wearing the costumes of the day and giving the
whole town a fantastically realistic atmosphere. The kids loved it and
especially the local steam train, which went on a half a hour trip out to the
surrounding countryside. Unfortunately we arrived late in the afternoon and missed all the activities laid on during the day. This is a recommended stop especially as eveyone has worked *************struct the cowboy era.
... tent, hang your food away from tent (in a tree), or off a bridged as we did. No toothpaste or anything near your tents.
Yesterday we climbed another pass to 5000 feet, on road, which made it easier. I think I sweated a liter or so on the way up. The sun was out at 27 degrees. Hot, from there all downhill. Down down down to the farm lands, mountains behind us. We peddled into the night knowing there was a camp site in the town. We snuck in late ...
... Chain Lakes until the floor of the valley levelled out. Thickly wooded ranges of hills enclosed the pastures on either side. Traffic was scarce and, for long luxurious stretches, grazing horses were my only source of company. They would stop munching to gawp at the brightly clothed alien whizzing by. Drunk on fresh air and the sense of adventure, I would shout 'Yee haw' and wave back. Climbing to the southeast, I forsook the delights of the valley for the steep, wooded ...
Fernie, British Columbia, Canada fintan... competition with international artists - very impressive. Skiing Fernie for the last week we have had perfect clear and sunny days - very unusual for Fernie. Christian hiked up the highest point at the resort to Polar Peak for some truly spectacular views of all the surrounding mountains. For people visiting this beautiful part of the world I highly recommend the natural hot springs at White Swan (a 90 minute drive ...
Fernie, Canada christian-ro... place like Fernie. 2) Expensive & ****** internet - I have had more reliable internet connections while travelling in Laos and Cambodia at a fraction of the cost. 3) The staff at the ski resort - If you happen to come here avoid all contact with staff at the FAR. Talk only to lifties as a last resort. When leaving the resort, stick fist out the window and extend middle finger while screaming obscenities. (Chris is ...
