Hauptstrasse 36 Interlaken, Bernese Oberland, Swiss Alps, Switzerland, 3800, 33-821-6121

... Jungfrau and the Eiger and carries 20 200 tonnes of boulder detritus per year. 20 000 litres of water travel past per second. This is the only waterfall inside a mountain which is accessible in Europe. A lift takes you to between the 6th and 7th waterfall and then you access each waterfall by stairs. The roar is huge at some stages. It was well worth a look and the crowds arrived just as we were leaving to catch the ...
Lucerne, Lucerne, Switzerland kiama_on_tour... the queue with a Bernese Mountain Dog. She had a gorgeous temperament and I spent my time giving her lots of pats. When one of our girls sadly but inevitably goes we would love to get one of these dogs as our next one. We have fallen in love with them over here.
We boarded the crowded cable car to our next destination which was another small town we had been told to have a look at. We wandered through and to be honest it didn’t look much different to the other small towns ...
... walks, lovely people, and each other. We are looking for employment and real estate here. We are off to Avignon next. Then to Barcelona. We only have 11 days left which is unbelieveable. Our picture count is up to 2924 which means we will soon have to change cards. Also, we have finished our books. We have spent this time to relax. Not a whole lot of sight seeing (except for the scenery) and although its a total of only 5 days in Swityerland we are taking some time off ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland keith_katie... in a cute little town at the base of the Alps and at an amazing hotel. I love this hotel. If there is no room left in heaven when I die, then send me back to Rugenpark B and B. (Ok, exaggerating a little, but I think you get the point) I really love this place and am excited for the next 4 days.
This is Justin. Adding my first official post to this exciting blog. Not much to really add to what Jessie said since she about covered it all, but I do have to stress ...
... seats or any descent food. To get from Southern France, Menton it took us four trains and 12 hours to get to Interlaken, Switzerland. We were lucky we made the direct train from Menton to Milan (€30 each, dep 10.28am), that morning as it took us 3 hours to pack up our tent in the rain. Shona only made the train because it was delayed as she refused to leave France without a baguette and a Chocolate Eclair, nearly killing ...
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland dinoshona... sleep on the flight over. I have never been able to sleep on a plane and as soon as dinner was over, Matt reclined and was out for about 5 hours. I slept for about 30 minutes, although I was much more comfortable that sitting in economy next to a guy bigger than me and trying to enjoy the 8 hour flight. We landed in Frankfurt on time an now on to Switzerland. I hope you enjoy the ride along with me on my journey of 2009. Stay tuned.............
Interlaken, Swiss Alps, Switzerland nedkI really don't know if I made the right decision to leave Italy and come to Switzerland, for I absolutely fell for Italy (training through it just goes to show what a wasted opportunity) and I can't stand the toffee nosed atmosphere of Zurich (a lot of stuck up French people around)... but I've just arrived so my attitude might change. I met some great people in Rome which makes for ...
Zurich, Switzerland shanewilsonSo we woke up super earlier and left the apartment by 7am. We went on a trip with Nina's mom and her friend and neighbor, Romy. Romy is real adventurous and loves the mountains so she offered to take us on up to Mürren. We took about 5 different trains/trams/variations of the two, to get up to Mürren and this ...
Mürren, Switzerland maggiehazel... t say is that it is only the "highest railway" in Europe. Anyway, having been up Mont Blanc we opted for the slightly smaller (though much cheaper) trip up Schiltorn. We took a funicular up the base of the mountain a scenic train around the mountain to the scenic town of Murren. Finally, we hopped in a lofty gondola for the last few legs of the journey, jealous of all the others doing so with skis. Schilthorn's 15 minutes of ...
Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland a_schafs... Bloomfield, CT, an easy twenty minutes from Longmeadow, and is friends with someone I went to high school with. No wonder I related to her. I launched Phase One of my mission by strolling down the road to the Funny Farm, checking the place out, and observing the marijuana plants growing in their lobby. They also have a kick ass pool and a gondola in the back where they serve all kinds of great American food. I told them I'd heard good stories about their hostel and wanted to come ...
