There is not getting around it - it is impossible to come to France and not try the wares!
Once, twice, thrice...
Let's just accept the fact that after visiting, Lille, Amiens and now 4 days in Lyon, there have been a few visits to the local boulangeries.
in fact it was not always our fault - some of them literally would not let us pass by their windows.

Such a lovely morning that we delay setting off and have a potter around Besancon. It is a really charming town and we will definitely come back again. We do discuss idea of staying for a week now but in the end decide to continue south to be sure of hotter weather. South to Lyon, another Mercure chain ...

Chambe D'Hote in old French house recently restored.
Normal evening of two beers, two bottles of wine & a glass of local rosť, oh & a very good meal as well. We missed our Cognac as the local bar had closed when we left the restaurant.

11:29 AM I'm currently on a TGV train (it's just this extra expensive fast "bullet trains"), on my way to lyon, we already passed Avignon, so I think the next stop will be mine. ... caught up with most of us, so we headed home. I caught the ‘night bus’ (I like to think of it as the Knight Bus, making my rides home very Harry-Potter-ish. I’m so very cool). Managed to fluke it so we turned up 5 mins before they arrived, which is a positive as they only run every hour. This is Lyon’s one public transport failing, apart from that the transport is AMAZING.
