Hahahaha I just had to write this down, because it would only happen to me. DISCLAIMER: This post is all about me needing a wee. ... on the sundeck and watched as we passed gorgeous towns (including the city of Linz) and went through a number of locks. That is a weird sensation as this huge barge goes down into the lock ready to be let through when the water levels are adjusted. Another interesting sight (actually of this whole trip) has been the huge number of vapor trails from planes in the obviously very busy skies...quite disconcerting to think there is so much traffic flying around up ...
... For this we needed to go in a cable railway to the top of the fortress. Here they had a Fortress Museum and a Marionette Museum. After wandering around the town we had diner. We are trying to eat Austrian food whenever we can. I was not so hungry so I had beef soup with cheese dumplings. It sounds strange but was very nice. It was a clear, tasty broth with this pancake on the bottom. Sheree and Tanya had spinach dumplings ...
We left Linz around 9:00am and took a few pictures before departing. It was a beautiful sunny morning and not so cold like the other mornings. We biked for an hour along the north side of the Danube. We crossed a hydro-electric plant to the south side of the river to bike further downstream. Then we crossed back with a ferry. We stopped in Mauthausen, the actual place where the idea for this trip originated. ...
Left the Hilton about 930am. Had some rain on the way to Cesky Krumlov. Arrived about 1pm. Wandered about the old Town, absolutely fabulous. Dinner at a Italian Restaurant around the corner from the hotel. We had a drink at the bar and then had dinner at the restaurant. We shared a beef carpaccio, for mains Leonie had a Fritto Misto and I had prawns with a Whisky and tomato sauce. Both dishes where excellent and got washed down with a nice Italian ...
