Up early as we were off on the optional extra to "Cesky Krumlov in Czech Republic", (another country) the Jewel of Bohemia, a quaint town that is protected by UNESCO & must be restored to its former medieval glory.

Our guide Peter shared the following
    - Linz township has a strong steel & plastic industry
    - average farm in Austria is 25 ha & milks about 10 cows
    - quite a number of Czech words have no vowels, he sad an interesting ...

(Pretty cool - can't get over the advanced civilisation of these places, hundreds of years ...

... Viking before coming to Scenic. Before that she worked as accountant for 10 years for only €200 / month. She said the money on the ship is much better, though Viking paid double to what Scenic does and she felt Viking are the better ships. We said that ocean liners have a bad reputation for paying poorly and having bad conditions for crew. She said this was true but the river cruisers pay much better wages and the conditions are better eg include health cover etc ...

... digital cameras are great. The duds don't cost money unlike the film system of old!

The return ride down the mountain was enjoyed by all arriving safely I the square. Time had got away on us, so we decided not to do the Miniature Train Tour. Back to the hotel to pack and on the bike path by 11 am.

We crossed the river adjacent to the hotel and made our way to the Northern Bike Path. It started off a bit rough ...
