And it's true! I did feed an elephant on Wednesday! And apparently they eat whole bananas! The peel, the stem, the works! What a cool experience. When else would I have been able to do that? Thanks Up With People!
Wednesday was our regional learning day in Cottbuss, Germany. Some people went to the Vattanfall coal mines (what I did on Sunday), some went on a city tour, and others went to visit a castle.
I went to the zoo! Of ...
... Grand Canyon of coal mines! The mines that we saw will provide enough energy to sustain Europe until 2050.
Unfortunately, that's approaching all too soon.
After visiting the coal mines, we traveled to Dresden, Germany. In 1871, a large military facility, Albertstadt, was built in Dresden during the time in which the German Empire was being formed. The 20,000 military personnel serving at the facility saw limited use ...
What a sad day. We roared our way through Berlin for the last time. Made great time and got to Dresden fine. Had a bit of an issue finding the garage again and there are lots of cobbled roads. Between driving on them and the van roaring it was a bit stressful but we got there in the end. The guy who hires them out is so cool... very chilled and relaxed. He took us ...
Dresden, Saxony, Germany emmasadventures... a young couple with their twin boy and girl babies on the patio outside trying to eat while feeding them. Of course they both woke up the moment the waitress brought their hot pizzas out.
Back on the bus home. We chatted with our neighbours and then said good night. They said they would say good-bye in the morning as they are moving on too.
I was going to do a wash, but decided against it. It was a great day.

I must not forget to mention our visit to the Green Vault with all its beautiful masterpieces of Dresden treasure art. For me this was the reason for visiting Dresden.
Afterwards we felt a bit weary and hungry so we finished at a very nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the Labe river, at the Italienisches Dörfchen.
After lunch we passed by the Semperoper and Zwinger in ...
... s Sleeping Venus and even Raphael's Sixtine Madonna. I also visited the VolksWagen Factory and seen how guys assemble luxury Faetons. Also they have a driving simulator made out of a real car, attached to some pneumatic pistons that move it around! Lots of fun :)
Dresden, Saxony, Germany pyres... The Mallorca airport was new and had a wonderful village design. There were none of the usual boring airport shops and restaurants. Instead the airport used soft colors and had more relaxed and fun signs, designs and tenants. It was great to see! Air Berlin dominated the airport with about 75% of the planes. The flight from Palma to Lisbon was on a normal plane with normal legroom, thankfully. It was such a strange feeling be back in the Lisbon airport. It's hard to imagine ...
Dresden, Germany rnriggins... have gottena Klaus one but they were 75,00. Karstadt sports are really cool. They're huge department stores with just nice sports stuff in it. not like Home. I headed back on the U-Bahn towards Warschauerstrasse. I got back adn they didn't want to give me the key because I dind't have my card and then they got angry because check out was at 1200. I thought it was 1600 but they didn't charge me. I got all of my stuff and headed out. Surprise, surprise but who ...
Somewhere between Berlin and Dresden, Germany glitterhairdye... could guide an entire convoy of Santa's sleighs. It has been a long run, my friends, and after being up since Friday morning with maybe a couple of hours of sleep, my brain is simply not in the condition to pick up languages. Nor much else for that matter. I have entrusted it all to Mr. Springsteen, who once lived here for a year, and thus actually knows what's what to an extent. Hopefully with proper rest, I can star picking up landmarks, etc ...
