Historical Traveler Reviews of Park Inn Airport Zürich
Great hotel, great staff, great price and cool beds!
from cdjudd
This hotel was a wonderful choice. We had a group of seven who needed accommodation for a one afternoon/night stop over in Zurich. We did not want to spend a lot and found a great deal on expedia for 2 double queen rooms for $277! The helpful woman at the front desk even gave us a family room which had 2 separate bedrooms.
There were a few other possible hotels which were more in the happening area, but I thought this was the safest choice in order to get big enough rooms for the 7 of us and no other hotel could beat that price.
The rooms were very high tech and had very comfy beds which could be adjusted similar to a hospital bed. The showers were funky as well - they were circular/cylindrical.
If anyone is turned off by the McDonald's aspect of this hotel, don't worry about it. I picked the hotel bc I thought it would be well run and pay special attention to customer satisfaction especially bc it was run by McDonald's and it turned out I was right :)
They also have a free shuttle which goes to the airport. It is less than 10 minutes away. The train station is in the airport as well and the last train which ran from the Zurich train station to the airport was around midnight. Last shuttle from the airport/train station is 11:30 pm.
We also had dinner at a great restaurant - kantorei - it was about 20-40 CHF. The food was fabulous! I highly recommend it.
Excellent Hotel

Myself and my friend spent 2 nights at this hotel. It was very clean and the rooms were fantastic. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast they have served was basic though but at acceptable level...
Overall, its suitable for singles, couples and even familiers...
Don't be put off by McDonald's. This is a gem!

Our long weekend in Zurich was supposed to be a Valentine's break for 4 (my husband and I and my brother and wife) but when my brother announced that the terrific deal he has secured through Expedia included accommodation in the Park Inn (an Ex-McDonald's hotel and within shouting distance of the airport to boot), we were sceptical to say the least and our romantic break looked set to be more like a stopover for a businessman on a budget. Yes, the Park Inn is near the airport (so much for wandering out of the front door into downtown Zurich) and yes, it's an ex-McDonald's hotel with a McDonald's restaurant right beside the main entrance, but leave your prejudices aside because it's immaculate, it's funky, the staff are outstanding and we'll be back! Because we got such a good deal (flights from Heathrow and 3 nights accommodation for £150 per person), we decided to splash out and stay in another hotel in the centre of Zurich for our middle night. Suffice to say we felt a real sense of homecoming as we returned to the Park Inn for our final night - the seriously comfy beds, the red curvy walls, the amazing round shower in the bedroom! Stay here - you will not be disappointed. And bring the kids because they even have seriously cool family rooms.
Great value, great location and great rooms

I can highly recommend this Hotel as a stop over before or after a flight. It is very near the airport, but very quiet. We arrived there late at night as our flight had been delayed and we had to collect a hire car. The Hotel was easy to find, the McDonalds next door was still open so we were able to have something to eat. The Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, even late at night! Our room was a very pleasant surprise. The were very well designed, bright and modern. The beds are fantastic, we enjoyed playing with the remote control to raise and lower the bed. The shower was brilliant and a very good design, it is a pod in the room. We enjoyed our stay there which left us refreshed and ready for our weekend trip. Fantastic value for money, with breakfast included. I would definitely stay there again.
Fun and convenient, but unreliable shuttle

Stayed one night at Park Inn in late June 2004 with a special AAA rate. Excellent price for level of amenities, including breakfast buffet. Hotel is funky and pleasant, and rooms have more than all mod cons. Staff was helpful, but misadvised us about airport shuttle. Told us we did not have to reserve a space on shuttle for AM trip to airport and when we arrived for the 7:40 a.m. shuttle were rudely told by driver to get off overloaded van. Had to order a cab to meet our plane. Overall, the hotel is probably a good one, but needs to take more trouble over details.
Spider City

We stayed at this hotel last July. Our room was fine, clean, roomy, very nice. However, our son and his wife's room was on the other side (river side) of the hotel and had lots of big spiders on the walls. After speaking with the management, evidently they had been having quite a problem with spiders on that side of the hotel. They made no effort to help or offer assistance. Very disappointing.
Would not stay there again!

Great Place

This hotel was one of the most pleasant hotels we had. It's clean, comfortable, climate-controlled, affordable and has all the ameneties one could ask for. It's connected to the McDonalds restaurant so the kids should be pleased. It also has a real restaurant for the older people. The underground secured parking and free luggage carts was also a big plus. Its location is about 5 minutes from the Zurich airport which is especially nice for the last night's stay before an early flight. We also booked on the internet, but found out about a cheaper rate for travellers. We had no problem with switching the rate. The staff is top-notch and eager to help.
A Unique Experience
from Druxys
The golden arches are everywhere! We loved the sit and sleep-style beds and very modern amenities. The shower is part of the guest room so it's not for the shy! The hotel restaurant is very expensive but the on-site McDonald's is an inexpensive alternative. The free airport shuttles are frequent and convenient. We booked on the internet but then found the rates were cheaper upon arrival. We had to fight for it but we managed to have our rate lowered to the current special. They offer free internet service from their business centre. It's a truly unique experience!
Sleeping inside McDonalds

McDonalds transformed their restaurant concept into a hotel. The colors and arches are everywhere. The rooms were clean and simple but had everything a businessperson mght need. The room had a wireless keyboard so you can access the internet using the TV set, as well as electric beds that recline using a remote control. It is definitely different than the regular hotel room you've come to expect. You don't feel you're in Europe though.
