... of glasses of red then down to dinner, excellent menu. Up to the theatre after eating to see a "diva" we missed her first show when we went on the Northern lights trip. Pretty glad really because I don't think we'd have gone to her other show. Modelled a little on Jo Brand I'm sure, a few songs, a few feeble jokes and also played the violin. I can’t imagine that there would be many flights going into Alta. We are about 4km from the town centre and there are shuttle buses leaving the port every 10 minutes for those who wish to go in.

However, being Sunday, most of the shops were closed and we had been advised that ...

Pajala to alta

A travel blog entry by amandanicholls on Aug 01, 2014

Not quite so far to go today only about 250 miles. After a good breakfast and having been woken early by the sunshine at 2am we decided to leave early. So we left the small (very small) town of Pajala alias pyjama alias paella in Swedish Lapland in glorious sunshine and headed north. Over the bridge and out of Pajala we see MFFTs (more flipping fur trees!) and after about 5 minutes we saw - guess who - our stalker reindeer friend who I will now refer ...
