... freezing. After our walk along the river we headed back to our hotel to warm up.

We do not exactly know what we are doing for the next 36 hours or so. The Eurail app shows us a route from Stockholm to Helsinki by bus and train that takes about 36 hours. We need to go to the information desk later on to get more details. If we follow the suggested route we will have a tight connection, which if we miss means we ...

Not Just the Metric System

During the days of extreme humidity this past summer, I remember looking forward to my journey to Sweden based solely on the fact that the weather would be cool and dry. However, upon my research of the weather in Luleň, I came to the unfortunate realization that the weather would be cool and humid. We're talking at least 50% humidity every single day. Everyone remembers the scene in Titanic where Jack humbly explains his nomadic lifestyle, "I don't know where I'll end up or who I'm going to meet" and everyone toasts "to make it count". I've never been able to fully appreciate such a fantastic way of life as it seems too romantic to be real. I have reflected upon my own life, and what a wonderful life it is, but there has always been a part of me that felt unfulfilled. I wasn't exploring, I wasn't engaging, I ...

Fake it 'til you make it. From the moment I left my parents at the terminal, I felt my face contort into a somber expression of determination to convince myself that I knew what I was doing. I didn't second guess myself or over think my actions, I just reacted and kept moving forward so by the time I saw down at the Stockholm terminal with my Frontera torta, I could eat in peace and finally start to think about the fact that I was about to board a flight to Sweden, by myself, ...
