... and Prada, etc., etc. right in front of our eyes.... Of all the times I have been in Naples over the years, I have never seen this shopping area.... With absolutely wonderful boutiques, and shops to entertain us. Jim found a pair of shoes that he was been looking for forever, whilst Diane and I went in and out of all the clothing boutiques. I was looking for a long dress to take to Portugal.... And Diane was just ...

At least I got to steal ...

If you remember, the Herculaneum were killed in a boiling mud slide, but here in Pompeii the inhabitants suffered a different fate. The were asphyxiated by toxic fumes from the volcano, which is why many of them died exactly were they were during everyday activities. The ...

... Fortunately, my sister in Perth started to alert the banks and stop further transactions. But we've spent the best part of 24 hours on the phone (thank goodness for Skype!) to MasterCard and our banks. The people at our hotel have been wonderful, really helpful. Our hotel is around 20 minutes from Sorrento high in the hills. We have a beautiful view of the bay. Right now (8:45pm) the lights are sparkling below - a really pretty ...
