... 8212;so I figure the Sorrento coast is going be pretty nice too… So I hop on the commuter train—which for some odd reason is packed with very scruffy looking folks… you’d think classy people would be going to a place like Sorrento (later I run into a couple of them and realize they’re all going to Sorrento to beg!)
The train continues past Castellamare and immediately burrows into the mountain, hardly seeing the light ...

... the town, but what fun would that be? The main part of Capri town is completely overrun with tourists, but you can walk off the beaten track to some spectacular look-outs. The views across the island, the cliffs, and some of the rock formations (like the two rocks sticking up in the sea called the Faraglione), are quite special. There are also a couple of beautiful gardens, some gorgeous churches, and a very steep switchback footpath called 'Via Krupp' after ...

... though and I'm glad I'm getting to know everyone better who I came here with. On to day 3. Today we took a bus to Pompeii. I was pretty excited. I've learned so much about ancient architecture and I enjoy any opportunity I get to see it. We didn't go on a tour or anything but my friends and I explored and took pictures. I was able to pick up on a lot of things myself. I tried to guess where the poor people lived over the rich and tried to imagine what the different public spaces were ...

... tenders are really good and efficient. The ship did a deal with the union to allow us to use our tenders but at the last moment the union reneged so they will miss out on 600 people visiting their village.

We had the best breakfast yet this morning. The ship has it all. Smoothy bar, freshly made waffles, pancakes and eggs any way you like. We loaded up with water and head to deck 3 where you board the tenders. Each one can handle up to 60 people.
