Park Hotel Weggis

After trying to find somewhere to stay in Zurich and finding nothing reasonably priced, we opted to stay in Lucerne about an hour away and just do a day trip into Zurich. Lucerne was really nice, we enjoyed our last few days in Europe and managed to do just a bit more walking.Being another smaller town, we were able to walk around most of it in a day - the old town was built on a river along with an old covered ...

... but the views were outstanding! When we reached the bottom we jumped on a train and it took us right back to where we started. After our day's adventure we went to the grocery store got some food for dinner and cooked a good ol' hot dog and french fry Canadian dinner at the hostel. We made it an early night and we departed earlier in the afternoon for Prague! I will continue the story in the historic city later!!

On the train to Zurich, I met the course professor. He was on his way to some small town near Zurich where he went to school - it was his class reunion. ... my host family and being able to contact the authorities in case of an emergency. Leave your key when you come to Switzerland In certain areas, people don't lock doors. My host family says that their neighborhood is so safe, they rarely lock their doors. I don't think that I have used my key to open the front door yet. This freaks me out - I don't care if you live in Utopia, you lock the door. I find ...

... umbrella and spraying water on people out of a bottle. A group of Korean tourist also came in calmly at one point for dinner and by the end of it Edgar was running around with a huge Korean flag on his shoulders and they had them up clapping and chanting to what I assume is the Korean soccer team song. (One the ladies in the group were also dressed up in a cow suit and we all did a conga line around tables and out the door into the street as well.) Over all that ...

... It's really cool in Luzern - going to be below freezing tonight, but the days are warm. At least we've missed all that rain back home. That's it for now. Enjoy the pictures!
