Venice, Veneto, Italy fedck... me, I love to start a conversation. Anyway, we met a guy from Detroi, two other guys from Washington, a girl from Arizona, a girl from Philladelphia and then a couple from Springfield. I was in talking heaven. We came back to our room, played cards and drank Budweiser we found at a grocery store here on Lido. Then journyed back for an evening stroll in Venice which turned into another evening "FALL" FOR ME!! Yes ...

We have already met our Maestro Lucio and the party. So I am utilizing my awake time to send you some info! Need to find my camera and insert "critter" picture! LOL! Found it! PHOTO_ID_L=critter.jpg
Murano, Veneto, Italy chella... over 5 miles.
A lot of people told us we'd visit Venice regularly over the next few years while we are stationed in Aviano....and I think they might be right. Venice is an enchanting place, and the food is pretty darn good as well.
Allen and I are hopeless romantics, so this place seems to suite us well. ;)
Venice, Italy nikmarks79... that just played the September 11th videos over and over.. I did not know what to think of that. After the art exhibit we found some gelati and headed back for the train station. On the way we went by a beautiful park that was across the Canal Grande from the train station. Jeff, Leondro, Z and I decided that we needed to find a bottle of wine and enjoy the view and sun set. We went into a nearby shop and bought a bottle and some cups for about 9 euro. The others in our group decided ...
Venice, Italy kenbeyerlein... up and be a prisoner here. The whole place was shorter than I was. I had to bend down just to walk in the corridors! I thought I was never going to make it out. I finally got out with just enough time to get some money out of the bank. I really didn't have time to shop because I had to meet up with the group for dinner. Damn these schedules! Very very tight. Dinner in Venice was nice. I shouldn't have orderd the fish! Antipasta = GREAT!, Lasagna ...
Venice, Italy 4wordmotion... art owned by Peggy Guggenheim, which now sits in her former palazzo on the Grand Canal. She had all the big names, but it was the more obscure painters that caught my attention. There was a Severini work called The Blue Dancer that was one of the most captivating paintings I have ever seen. It was like looking through a kaleidoscope at a seductive flamenco dancer, and her embellished dress was filled with small sequins pressed right into the paint. As much as I was looking ...
Venice, Italy the_stamms... big white domes fading into a deeper color with the sun just about to sneak behind it. The sky a mix of pinks, blues, and purples, all tinged with orange. Postcard perfect. I walked a ways down the waterfront and up on to a bridge to get an unobstructed view, and it was perfect. I think everyone visiting Venice and their cameras were out that night and on the bridges taking the exact same picture, but it was great. Crowds weren't that big anyway. Plus Venice put me ...
