We are on our last day in Rimini, and we're both quite glad of it. Not that we haven't had a good time (though the hostel has been a bit rubbish).

The journey down here from Munich was a real slog! It took 8 hours, though that didn't really bother us too much. 8 hours of discomfort on a cramped Italian train however, that was what made it difficult. D** Abend am Lago di Trasimeno war sehr angenehm und ruhig - nicht einmal die Eisenbahn haben wir gehört - die ziemlich nah am Platz vorbeifährt.

Ravenna was somewhere Matt had insisted we visit, so I included it as a day trip in our packed itinerary. Little did I realise this would be the highlight of our trip. Ravenna is possibly the only place on earth where you can visit 8 UN World Heritage sites in less than a day (although we unfortunately only managed 7, as one was closed for renovations).

... the staff were really friendly and helpful. The Theatre was weird, kind of in the middle of nowhere, a large basketball arena attached to some other massive, factory like buildings pretty ugly. 2005-06-01 Bologna (Dave) Our last day in Bologna. We didn't see any sights but we did get a little feel for self-sufficiency since we didn't have hosts to show us around. One thing about Bologna is that they are very bicycle-friendly unlike hilly Rome. My feet were hurting so I went to buy new shoes. They cost too much so I bought inserts instead.
