For all you foodies out there, you haven't tasted a meatball until you've eaten one at iL Grottino in Pitigliano, Tuscany, Italy. Victoria, an American who lives in Orvieto, offered to take us for a drive out in the countryside. She drove us out to see Lake Bolsena and then to a lovely hill town called Pitigliano. The entrance is down stepped ...

In the car park there were a couple of chaps, probably about 30 or so, they were drinking cans of beer sat on the tarmac, it's sad that they don't have anything better to do at 10.30 on. Tuesday morning. We drove bout to the ring road and then on to the motorway we are heading to Tarquinia where there is ...

Wed 5th: Woke up in Tarquinia (more pics) with Rem's ear needing medical attention. The delightful small-town world was full of remains of Etruscan Italy. It is so old, it is older than Rome! Etruscan society was more ...
