Continuing with my little stress relieving day trips, last weekend I went with a few of my friends to San Marino. Although located in Italy, San Marino is technically a separate country. In fact, it is the oldest surviving sovereign constitutional republic in the world. The city of San Marino is the capital of San Marino and ...

We arrived at our hotel just South of the Port town of Ancona in an area known as Portonuovo which has a commanding view of the sea from a bluff. The wind howls up here and should make for a noisy night. The hotel is devoid of people save a few that we saw in the lounge area. Not surprising given both its remote location and the time of year. Very quite except.....for the wind. All in all a very enjoyable day.

... this is what the driver thought I meant, so I stormed down the stairs muttering under my breath. When Lyndon joined me I said 'did you see what that rude man did to my bag?’ Once Lyndon had pointed out the miscommunication I was pretty mortified to think that he would think that I would think that he should move my bag. Did I overthink it?

Anyway I was a bit embarrassed so when it was time to get off the boat ...

... This cathedral is up there with York Minister. A good experience and very well maintained.

I mooched around the shops a little. It is odd because there are the high end Prada, Louis Vitton, Gucci etc shops which are just unafforable for normal people and then there were the Glasson equivalents. There didn't seem to be anything in between.

Dave and I explored a lovely inner ...
