... most recently allied forces of WW II, who fought across Sicily to liberate it from Nazi occupation. Earthquakes have toppled some of the ruins. Archaeologists from Universities all ove r the world have come to find and restore the temples and necropolis of Agrigenta. We did not stay here long, but memories of the temples will forever come to mind when I think of Sicily.

They were happy to meet us, they took us to visit several elderly cousins, who spoke only Italian, but whose happiness to meet us was shown by kisses, hugs, tears, and abundant sweets and espresso coffee. We will hold memories of these dear people in our hearts.

Mit unserem neuen fiat cinquecentöli düsten wir dann nach san leone, gleich unterhalb von agrigento am meer.<br><br>Agrigento sei eine hochburch der ‚narcotis-mafia‘ und sehr agressiv. Wahrscheinlich war dem guide die fahrkarte zu teuer und so war sein reingewinn grösser.<br><br><br>nach 3 tage in catania waren wir doch froh, diese stadt verlassen zu können.....wir freuten uns auf das neue Ziel 'Taormina', wo es eine schöne altstadt auf einem hügel gebe und dazu ein spezieller strand mit der isola bella.<br><br>also das nächst beste hostal im internet gebucht und am nächsten tag mit bus und zug richtung taormina....... :-)<br><br><br>

Catania, Sicily, Italy dgk... can speak English. It has even been a little frustrating at times. The people at the desk in my hotel, every shop and restaurant, everywhere. This also includes all signs, menus and informational posters outside tourist attractions.
